FDA kills India’s pills?

This week FDA placed a temporary ban on drugs made by Ranbaxy — an Indian generic company soon-to-be-owned by the Japanese — for procedural violations in its India plants. This seems odd to me on a few levels.

India’s share of the atom

The Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG), an international group of nations that allow themselves to trade in nuclear goodies in exchange for non-proliferation pledges, have just decided to let India in the clubhouse. That means India will be able to but nuclear equipment and such for its civilian program (but not its military).
