Sebastian is a photo editor and photographer who worked for six years in school curriculum development for K12 Inc., and 15+ years in the media industry including as news photo editor at National Geographic News and The Associated Press. He also worked as a photographer, photo librarian, researcher and coordinator for newspapers, magazines, and other publications in the United States and India.

Sebastian has a MS in Geology and MA in Communication and Journalism, both from India, and completed the Digital Curation for Information Professionals from University of Maryland. An avid cook, he has a Diploma in Peruvian Gastronomy from Le Cordon Bleu Peru and studied Guatemalan cuisine at ACAM Culinary School, Guatemala. Sebastian focuses on Indian, Peruvian, Guatemalan and American cuisines. 

Outside of work, Sebastian trains in judo and Brazilian jiu jitsu. He holds a second degree black belt in judo, is an International Judo Federation certified instructor, and USA Judo and Belgium Judo national referee. He has a blue belt in BJJ.
